Clair Obscur Triumphs at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive won the esteemed Game of the Year award, along with accolades for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design.
Complementing the studio's success, the gifted actors also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. It is important to note, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the public, with only four special—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamer Selection—decided by reviewers.
